NFL Picks: Super Bowl 45

Last week (2 weeks ago): 2-0
Postseason record: 5-5

Green Bay vs. Pittsburgh--So here we are. All the marbles, the whole enchilada and all that as Jon Gruden would say. Or at least I'm thinking of Gruden who said all that in some commercial for Monday Night Football. Anyway, we've come to this. The Green Bay Packers against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl 45, the first time these two storied franchises have met for the title.

The Packers are explosive on offense, but much better on defense than they typically get credit for. The Steelers are one of the best defensive teams in the NFL, and their offense is no slouch, either. In fact, you could say the Steelers don't get the credit they deserve for their offense. So we have an explosive offense vs. a stingy defense on one side; and an underrated offense against an underrated defense on the other. Could this game be decided by special teams? Quite possibly, and if that's the case, I'll take my chances with Green Bay's Mason Crosby over Pittsburgh's Shaun Suisham in a heartbeat. And I'll use that for the basis of my pick--Packers 20, Steelers 17

Enjoy the game, everyone, and please, if you have a few cocktails at a party, don't get behind the wheel.
